Work details
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and sales
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and optimization of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of materials and products.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation scheduling, route optimization, and customs clearance, to minimize lead times and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance and logistics service levels, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain quality and reliability.
- Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storage, and cycle counting
- Work closely with production and procurement teams to coordinate material flow and inventory replenishment to support production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing logistics operations, including transportation safety, hazardous materials handling, and customs regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics operations, such as supply chain disruptions, transportation delays, and security threats, through effective risk assessment and contingency planning.
・Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
・Proven experience of around 5 years as Manager/Asst Manager in logistics management, in Japanese manufacturing
・Strong knowledge of logistics processes, transportation modes, and supply chain principles.
・Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
・Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve logistics performance.
・Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements governing logistics operations.
